Who is on stage

Three instructors, local crews, and the week's dancers

The line-up is built through the week rather than cast in advance, so it is part programme and part product of the workshops.

  • Tebza Diphehlo

    Soweto, South Africa

    Pantsula · Amapiano

  • Cori D Lionne

Cameroon · based in London, UK

    Ndombolo · Coupé-Décalé · Bikutsi · House · Breaking

  • Yemi Osokoya

    Lagos, Nigeria

Naija Street Style · Konto · Shaku

Alongside them: a Collab Crew of other Singapore crews invited in to fuse their styles with Afro dance, and an Artist Crew bringing one-minute experiments.

Dancers from the week’s workshops perform too. There are no auditions — the criteria are below, and it needs seven workshops or more.

ACE 2025

What it looked like last year

The same room and the same stage. This is the closest thing to an honest preview that exists before the 2026 programme is set.

  • A dancer leaps into the air with arms raised as two crossed spotlight beams cut across the stage.
  • A dancer throws both arms open wide, smiling, while three dancers crouch and reach around him.
  • A dancer in teal trousers drops into a deep lunge under blue stage light, other dancers behind.
  • Two dancers in brown and pink stride forward side by side, arms swinging, with a line of dancers behind.
  • Three dancers in batik-panelled costumes drive forward together under blue light.
  • A line of dancers in pink and brown angles across the stage, front dancer reaching one arm out.

Want to dance in it?

No auditions. Eligible dancers get a group number at registration, and towards the end of class you’ll dance with your group so the instructor can see your participation and ability up close.

  • Seven workshops or more. That’s what puts you in the running.
  • Attend the instructor’s first workshop, before 16 October. An instructor can only pick someone they have seen dance, so their opening workshop is the one that counts.
  • Selected dancers are announced by 15 October, 11:59pm.
  • Rehearsals are 16 October, 10pm–11:30pm and 17 October, 10:30am–1:30pm.
  • Stage run and show are 18 October, 2:30–10pm. You need to be free for all of it.

If more than one instructor picks you, we go by the preference you set. Book seven workshops or more and we’ll ask for it at checkout, before you pay — you can change it any time in My ACE.
