We are a community-led platform in Singapore, built from a shared love for African dance, culture and the people behind it.
We create spaces to learn, connect and grow through dance, while building stronger bridges between our community here and practitioners from Africa and the diaspora.
Started from passion, and still very much driven by it.
Our mission is to grow a more informed, connected and sustainable African dance community in Singapore. One that learns closer to the roots, creates meaningful cultural exchange, and contributes back to the people and communities we learn from.

Founders
Afro Singapura is run by two Singapore dancers who have been teaching here for over a decade. They are the reason the instructors are flown in rather than approximated, and the reason the week runs when it says it will.

A dance artist, choreographer and educator with over two decades in dance. Scouted at 17 by the founders of O School; African dance became the focus of her practice after training in London, Ghana and South Africa.

Dancing since 2011, with placings under Blaqueneez, JAPBLAQ and Andro. He now leads Wolfpack, the crew that took Afro dance to WSB Singapore and came back with 2nd Runner-Up in the Monster category.
The room
Studio dancers, freestylers, school crews and people who have never taken a workshop. Mostly between 16 and 40, mostly there with someone.
The camp
ACE — the Afro Collective Experience — is the week we run each year. International instructors come to Singapore to teach, local crews and invited guests join them, and it closes with a showcase and a battle. 2026 is the third edition.
It is built for people who have never tried Afro dance as much as for people who have been dancing for years. Most of the room is learning something new that week, which is the point.
We come to these dances as guests of the culture, so every workshop starts with where the movement comes from before it gets to the choreography.
